Claiming Missouri Cash Pop Prizes

Learn how to claim Missouri Cash Pop prizes, whether you win just a few dollars or the top prize of $2,500. It’s a straightforward process either way, but there are a few details you should be aware of.

The claim period is 180 days from the date of a drawing. This deadline is the same regardless of how much you win and gives you lots of time to come forward, but tickets do not remain valid beyond this point and if you try to redeem a prize after it has expired you will not be paid out.

Prizes Up To $600

This covers the vast majority of Cash Pop prizes. All you need to do is hand in your winning ticket to a Missouri Lottery retailer for validation. Alternatively, mail in your winning tickets to the following address:

Ticket Redemption
Missouri Lottery
PO Box 7777
Jefferson City, MO 65102-7777

Prizes of More Than $600

You can’t collect prizes of this value from Missouri Lottery retailers, but you can still claim them by mail. Make sure your name, address, telephone number and signature are filled in on the back of the ticket, and that you complete a claim form. You’ll need to send in your claim form and winning ticket, along with a copy of a government-issued photo ID and a completed IRS Form W-9.

If you would prefer to claim your prize in person, you will have to visit the Missouri Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City, or one of the regional offices in Springfield, St. Louis or Kansas City. The full addresses are shown below.

Taxes

Prizes of more than $600 are subject to Missouri state tax at a rate of 4 percent, but federal withholdings do not apply unless the prize is more than $5,000.

Lost and Damaged tickets

The Missouri Lottery is not liable for any lost, stolen or damaged tickets. All you can do to safeguard against losing your ticket is sign the back of it as soon as you purchase it, then keep it somewhere secure until you check the results. If you have a damaged ticket that cannot be validated by a retailer, you can mail it in to see if it can be reconstructed, but you should allow extra processing time and accept that the Missouri Lottery is not obliged to pay out.
