Claiming Prizes in Washington
There are a couple of different ways you can pick up Cash Pop prizes in Washington. Find out more about how to claim below.
If you do win, make sure you collect your money within 180 days of the draw date. If you miss this deadline, it will be too late and your prize will remain unclaimed.
Prizes of $600 and Below
With a top prize of $500 in Cash Pop, you can claim any payout from a Washington Lottery retailer or by mail. To cash in at a retailer, you just need to hand in your winning ticket for validation.
Some retailers may not have sufficient cash on their premises to be able to pay you out, so you may have to go elsewhere or consider mailing in your ticket.
If you are mailing in a ticket, the back of it should be completed and signed. Here is the address for mail-in claims:

Olympia, WA 98504-3050

Lost and Stolen Tickets
Lottery tickets are regarded as bearer instruments in the same way as dollar bills are - if you are holding the ticket, you are assumed to be the owner. The only way to claim a prize is to be in possession of a valid winning ticket. It is therefore essential that you keep any entries you have safe and guard against them being lost or stolen. It is a good idea to sign your ticket to prove your ownership and stop anyone else from trying to claim your prize.
Taxes
There is no state tax on lottery prizes in Washington. If you win $600 or more (which is not possible on a single Cash Pop play), you will be required to be provide your social security or tax identification number so that the Washington Lottery can report it to the IRS. Prizes over $5,000 are subject to 24% federal withholding.
