Claiming Prizes in South Carolina
If you win a Cash Pop prize in South Carolina, the next step is to get your hands on your money. Claiming prizes in the Palmetto State is straightforward, but there are different procedures for different prize amounts. Find out more about how to claim prizes.
Regardless of how much you win, you must come forward within 180 days of the draw date to claim your prize. If you miss the deadline, the money will be regarded as unclaimed and will be transferred to the Education Lottery Account to help support the state’s school system.
Prizes Up To $500
The simplest way to claim prizes of up to $500 is from an authorized lottery retailer. All you need to do is hand in your ticket for validation. It should be signed beforehand to show it belongs to you. If a retailer does not have enough cash, you may instead receive your prize as a store check, money order or a mixture of all three methods.
If you prefer, you can also claim prizes of any value by mail. Send your signed winning ticket to the following address. There is no need to fill out a claim form.

Prizes of More Than $500
You can’t collect prizes of more than $500 from retailers, so the easiest way to claim is by mail. You’ll need to attach a completed claim form, along with a copy of a valid form of photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport). It is recommended that you send your tickets in by registered mail.
If you would like to claim your winnings in person, you can visit the Columbia Claims Center. You will just need to provide a claim form, a copy of a photo ID, and a signature on the winning ticket. The address of the claims center is shown here:

Lost Tickets
It is your responsibility to keep your tickets safe. A Cash Pop ticket is like a dollar bill – it cannot be replaced if it gets lost. You should always sign the back of a ticket as soon as you buy it – and certainly after a draw if you realize it is a winner. This way there is a chance that it will be returned to you if it is misplaced, and nobody else would be able to able to claim the prize.
