Claiming Prizes in Virginia
Claiming lottery prizes in Virginia is quick and simple, but the process is different depending on how much you win. Find out how to claim your prize below. Regardless of how much you win, Cash Pop tickets expire 180 days after the drawing. After this deadline has passed, tickets are no longer valid and any prizes will go down as unclaimed. This money will then be forfeited and revert to the Virginia State Literary Fund to support K-12 public education.
Prizes of $600 and Below
The most popular way to claim a prize of up to $600 is by visiting a Virginia Lottery retailer. Some retailers may not have sufficient cash to pay you out due to security reasons, but they can give you a check or money order.
Alternatively, you can take your winning ticket to one of the Virginia Lottery’s customer service centers or prize zones, or mail it in to the following address. For any of these methods, you will also need to provide a valid photo ID and your Social Security number if the prize is worth more than $100.

Prizes of More Than $600
If you mail in for a prize worth more than $600, make sure to attach a claim form and complete all the sections on the back of your ticket. It is recommended that you make copies of both sides of your ticket, and use registered mail to track its progress.
You can also send your ticket to one of the customer service centers shown below or a prize zone. Provide your Social Security number and a valid government-issued photo ID (such as your driver’s license or passport). You’ll need to submit a claim form.
